  • Western Plains Aviaition is the only authorized instrument service center in the Northern Colorado area for Garmin product installations. We are the premier repair station in Colorado for Garmin install.

    Western Plains Aviation is also FAA licensed maintenance, engine, and avionics center for Cessna, Bonanza, Cirrus, Mooney and many other manufacturers.

  • A 100 Hour Inspection is required by the FAA for all flight school airplanes and planes for hire. It is strongly recommended to complete this inspection for any high-time or shared-ownership planes. Any plane flown over 100 hours/ year can benefit from a 100 hour inspection to flag any safety issues due to frequent use.

  • During an annual inspection, the aircraft is fully opened up in order to perform a complete inspection. WPA has authorized inspectors on site with years of experience on a variety of aircraft makes and models.

    Our annual inspections follow a detailed checklist that combines manufacturer factory documentation with our own in-house checklist based on years of experience. All annuals meet and exceed the requirements set forth by FAR 43, Appendix D. Our processes have been closely examined and uphold FAA standards, issuing WPA a 14 CFR Part 145 certification for avionics, maintenance, and engine.

  • Buying an aircraft is an exciting moment, and WPA has qualified aircraft technicians to advise you with over 100 years of combined aircraft maintenance experience. We offer a very thorough pre-buy inspection, which incorporates many aspects of our detailed annual inspection.

    A pre-buy inspection is the best investment you can make before taking the plunge, so place your trust in a business with years of experience help you make your final decision.

  • You spend your entire flight facing your panel and instruments. Over the years, they can experience wear-and-tear or need altering to fit new avionics. At WPA we can customize and manufacture panels specific, or install any pre-made or pre-purchased panels.

    You choose your instruments, we create the panel. Utilizing a state-of-the-art CNC Panel Pro, you have the option to choose custom colors, wood lamination design, powder coating, and more. After your base is chosen, the panel can be engraved as an alternative to our semi-permanent methods of labelling: stickers, screen printing, etc. The sky is the limit!

  • An engine repair is the restoration of a worn or damaged engine, or engine part. At WPA, we are well-accustomed with restoring engines and/or engine accessories to either it’s original high-quality and function, or a serviceable condition in accordance with the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICAs).

    For something as crucial as engine repair, trust your airplane with an experienced repair station.

  • Western Plains Aviation is highly experienced in a breadth of transponder service needs including:

    • Inspection and Certification of aircraft altimeters, altitude encoders, static systems, and transponders as required by 14 CFR 91.411 and 91.413 and in accordance with 14 CFR 43 appendices E and F.

    • External altimeter adjustment, and altitude encoder correlation adjustment as needed.

    • Troubleshooting and repair / replacement of transponder system components.

    • A full service includes examination of the transponder, mounting tray, wiring harness, antenna, and coax.

    • Troubleshooting and repair of the aircraft static system.
